General Instructions (not device specific) : Afterwards, send your base tune file as an attachment via email and put your order number in the subject line. Please save this file as it is your original read and have it save to the desktop(its easier to find then). After the read is complete VCM Editor will automatically prompt you to save the file. Reading the factory tune will take 2-15 minutes depending on the vehicle. Pictured below you will see you read the engine, transmission. With t he editer open you will select the green arrow which is the read function. You have to have the ignition key on engine off. For this you'll need to go out to the vehicle, plug in the MPVI2 to your laptop and vehicle OBD2 port, and and open the VCM editor, select "Read Vehicle". Once you register your MPVI2 it is time to read your vehicles base file. is a link that will help walk you through doing so. Once you receive your HPTuners MPVI tune you will need to make an account on HPtuners and register your device.
